Week 13: November 23-24, 2018

A continuing trend this season is the proliferation of totally mono-color uniforms. Half the Pac this week fell into that look. And WSU narrowly avoided it by having throwback script logo helmets in gray rather than crimson.

Week 12: nov. 17, 2018

While smoke from the Butte County fires fouls the Bay Area and postponed the Big Game, the Arizona schools were on the road and both wearing all white. ASU was all white vs. Oregon all black.

Week 11: Nov. 10, 2018

All pretty normal uniforms this week. ASU is pulling out a Pat Tillman Salute to Service combo, that is a variation on uniforms they have had in the past. And Utah had a special hand-painted hawk wing helmet.

Week 10: November 3, 2018

A trend that has been gaining steam for more than a year seems to have come to a head this week. More than half of the Pac-12 wore completely mono-color uniforms today. Not just pant/jersey mono, but helmet too.
  • Oregon went all-black with its Jordan one-offs
  • Oregon State went full-pumpkin, 3 days after Halloween
  • WSU did all-crimson
  • Arizona was all-blue.
  • Stanford did its usual road whites while Colorado and Utah went "ice white" mono. (I guess "Ice " has replaced "stormtrooper" as the monicker for this look! Cal went mono pant/jersey "Ice."

Week 9: October 27, 2018

When the most notable uniform oddity this week is Washington going for the purple chrome helmets and white pants, you know it's a quiet week.

Oh, and Oregon did its first mix/match—sorta—it still wore all white but swapped the silver helmet for the black version. See my posts about the Ducks being kinda conventional this year!  Or my post about the choices that they have if they do mix/match.

Arizona went full-red. ASU pulled out their matte black helmets and "gray" pants that kinda look like really dark gray heathered sweet pants or yoga pants.

Week 8: Oct. 20, 2018

Now it starts to get interesting in the Pac-12. Two of the teams have finally pulled out specialty throwbacks. Oregon State revealed a new retro Benny Beaver set, while Utah retread their throwback that usually makes one appearance every season. Washington State (all aflutter with Oregon and ESPN Gameday on campus) went mono-anthracite which was a good luck for them against USC and Oregon in recent years. The luck held this weekend for the Cougars! And the Ducks wore their mono-white/silver for the second time this year, and it proved unlucky as it has in past seasons!
ASU pulled a "Maroon-Out"

Week 7: Oct. 13, 2018

The only notable uniforms this week were the Cal "Joe Roth" uniforms that debuted last year, and the Utah specialty helmets paired with Arizona red chrome.  Oregon wore its sixth mono-color uniform with a repeat of week 1!

Week 6: Oct. 6, 2018

Another week of lots of black or white. Granted OSU and CU use black as a school color) WSU went Stormtrooper and OSU and Stanford went Darth Vader. And Colorado did a combo with white helmet over mono-black. Ironically Stanford had the most oddball uniform this week with its rare all-black ensemble and its silver helmet stripe and S.

Week 5: Sept. 29, 2018

Where did all the color go this week? Except for Cal, Arizona and Washington, the vast majority of the Pac 12 was either on the road—and wearing white, or going for black or gray this week. Albeit, both WSU and Colorado have those colors as official school colors so I won't complain about BFBS or GRGS. Both Stanford and OSU went mono-white, while ASU chose its all-charcoal set, with white helmets, and Oregon continued its mono-color uniform for the 5th week in a  row, with the first appearance of its all-white with chrome helmet set.

Week 4: Sept 22, 2018

With four teams on bye, it's not the most exciting slate of uniforms. The state of Oregon went mono vs. mono with Oregon all-green vs. Stanford's all-white; OSU went all-black vs. Arizona's all-white. (Oregon has gone mono all games this young season)

Week 3: Sept 15, 2018

Mono-dark seemed to the theme of this week, with four of the teams going that way. Oregon pulled out an odd daytime blackout vs a lower tier San Jose State, while Cal and Arizona went mono-blue and Utah used blackout like it's normally done: vs a highly ranked UW. OSU went whiteout, while the rest of the Pac dressed pretty normally. And WSU used the darker version of its gray for helmets and pants, while Colorado went black and silver (gray).

Week 2: Sept. 8, 2018

In a  quirk of scheduling most of the Pac-12 North was home and most of the South was away. This led to mostly colored jerseys up north and vice versa in the south. The one funny bit is that Cal was the away team against BYU, but since BYU has made a habit of wearing all white at home in the early season, Cal went mono blue. Both Oregon and Oregon State also went mono, with the Ducks going green and Beavers going all black. ASU also went blackout.

Week 1: Aug 30-Sept 1, 2018

This season seems to be off on a familiar uniform-track as past seasons. The only major uniform revamp was (surprise) Oregon. And even that was not a major overhaul, with same helmets as in past and a new number font. Stanford seems to have added a black outline to their number (that constitutes a major revamp on The Farm) and ASU did some nice new touches with flag-themed subtle jersey texture and new pants. All the remaining teams played with pretty much 99% the same uniforms as last season. I guess any major fireworks will have to wait.
